Funded with the support of the American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development, or USAID, the center aims to support Egypt in reaching its target of 42% renewable energy by 2035.

Gail-Joon Ahn, a professor of computer science and engineering in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, has recently been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, or IEEE, the world’s largest organization of technical professionals.

Arizona State University announced Thursday its four Regents Professors for 2023 — the most prestigious and highest faculty award possible.
Human systems engineering faculty contribute to National Academies research
Cooke is contributing to another ongoing National Academies study on risk analysis methods for nuclear war and nuclear terrorism. The research investigates the use of a risk assessment framework to determine the risks of nuclear terrorism and nuclear war.

Spotlight on Teaching and Learning: Academic Innovator Steve Millman’s logic tutor and flipped classes
Steve Millman, a professor of practice in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, programmed his own software for his CSE/EEE 120 Digital Design Fundamentals class that randomly generates practice problems and gives students instant feedback. Steve also flipped his courses so students watch lecture videos before coming to class and he now spends class time on hands-on activities and group quizzes.
Pathikonda named emerging leader in measurement science and technology
Gokul Pathikonda, an assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering in the Fulton Schools, has been named an Emerging Leader by the Measurement Science and Technology journal. The journal publishes research articles on measurement techniques and instrumentation that advance measurement science.
