Brooke Coley’s engineering education research recognized at the STEM for All Video Showcase
Brooke Coley, an assistant professor of engineering education systems design, and her colleague Jeremi London at Virginia Tech won the Presenters’ Choice Award at the 2022 STEM for All Video Showcase, an event funded by the National Science Foundation, for their submission of a video component from their NSF-funded project titled PROSE: Exploring Professional Organizations’ Role in Supporting Black Engineering Student Success.
The video, titled The Extremophiles, touches on the importance of counterspaces in the success of Black engineering students. Coley and London’s fellow presenters selected them for this honor at the May event.
Congratulations to Coley and her Shifting Perceptions, Attitude and Cultures in Engineering, or SPACE, Lab students for this honor.
