Teaching Assistant Professor Daniel Frank has created a learning environment that cultivates imagination in his first-year engineering courses. Frank’s innovation had him taking a few “clues” from a popular television series and creating a fictional customer for which his students would design a solution.
At the two-day Realm 4: Education Through Exploration Summit hosted in November, experience hands-on demonstrations and meet the innovators at ASU who are utilizing diverse, next-generation, and technology-driven strategies for learning in the 21st century and beyond.
The experience allowed both junior and senior faculty members to get to know one another better, even if they have each been at ASU for many years.

Steve Millman, a professor of practice in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, programmed his own software for his CSE/EEE 120 Digital Design Fundamentals class that randomly generates practice problems and gives students instant feedback. Steve also flipped his courses so students watch lecture videos before coming to class and he now spends class time on hands-on activities and group quizzes.

The School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, is proud to announce that two of the school’s bachelor’s degree programs have been granted accreditation for the first time ever by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, or ABET.
ASU Learning Futures is a production studio through the University of Technology Office that imagines the future of learning three-to-five years into the future and creates platforms and experiences using extended reality (XR) technologies to make those learning experiences real. These technologies include but are not limited to VR headsets, mobile apps, and more!

FSE Cloud Classroom is a virtual environment hosted in the cloud that provides Fulton Schools students with immediate access to the software used in many engineering courses directly from a browser window. The FSE Cloud Classroom runs in the cloud and is independent of your computer’s operating system so Windows-based software can be accessed on a Mac Laptop and vice versa!
