Carla van de Sande, associate professor of mathematics education at ASU, created a program to help students practice key math concepts over academic breaks. Keep In School Shape (KiSS) sends students daily challenges via email or text so they can keep their skills sharp between calculus courses.

Spotlight on Teaching and Learning: Academic Innovator Steve Millman’s logic tutor and flipped classes
Steve Millman, a professor of practice in the School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, programmed his own software for his CSE/EEE 120 Digital Design Fundamentals class that randomly generates practice problems and gives students instant feedback. Steve also flipped his courses so students watch lecture videos before coming to class and he now spends class time on hands-on activities and group quizzes.

ASU’s School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment receives new ABET accreditation for two undergraduate degree programs
The School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University, is proud to announce that two of the school’s bachelor’s degree programs have been granted accreditation for the first time ever by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, or ABET.

FSE Cloud Classroom is live — explore helpful resources for your courses and students
FSE Cloud Classroom is a virtual environment hosted in the cloud that provides Fulton Schools students with immediate access to the software used in many engineering courses directly from a browser window. The FSE Cloud Classroom runs in the cloud and is independent of your computer’s operating system so Windows-based software can be accessed on a Mac Laptop and vice versa!
