New Quick Reference Guides: supporting clear AI expectations and course communication

As the new academic year begins, the Fulton Schools Learning and Teaching Hub, or LTH, invites you to explore two new Quick Reference Guides designed to help faculty navigate practical questions about artificial intelligence, or AI, in teaching and learning.

Student AI Use: Setting Expectations helps instructors communicate clear, student-friendly expectations for when AI use is permitted, limited, discouraged or inappropriate in a course or assignment. It offers sample language for engineering coursework to help faculty align AI use with learning goals and reduce ambiguity for students.

Syllabot introduces a generative AI-powered chatbot built using ASU’s CreateAI Builder platform. Instructors can upload a syllabus and supporting course materials to create a course-bounded assistant that answers common student questions about due dates, assignments, course expectations and other details.
