Request a Spring 2024 Undergraduate Teaching Assistant by Jan. 1

If you are teaching an undergraduate course in Spring 2024, you may consider participating in the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant program. The primary goals of the program are to improve student professional and educational experience, provide an innovative learning and leadership experience, and allow students to gain valuable professional skills and resume-building opportunities.

The deadline to request a UGTA for spring semester is Monday, Jan. 1, 2024!

If you want to learn more about the UGTA program, please watch the videos below:

If you would like to request a UGTA for your undergraduate course, we encourage you to have an average of five hours of work each week for UGTAs. This can be in-class monitoring, collaborative learning activities, labs or team activities. Our office will try to accommodate and fill as many requests as possible, however, please note that the application pool is not large enough to cover the wide variety of requests and courses.

Faculty process:

  • Recruit your UGTAs by reaching out to your high-performing students in Fall 2023, or earlier.
  • Confirm the course(s) they are willing and able to work as a UGTA.
  • Submit a request to the Faculty Request Portal.
    • Follow the format when requesting a UGTA.
    • Only input a student’s ASURITE, NOT the student’s email or ASU ID number.
    • Watch this video for more information on the correct format.
  • Remind your student(s) to apply to the Fulton Application as soon as possible.
  • Check the Faculty Request Portal to get updates on the status of your request and/or comments or notifications regarding errors or delays in processing your request.
  • Complete a Faculty Agreement with each UGTA at the beginning of the semester.
  • Complete a UGTA Evaluation for each UGTA at the end of the semester.
