Join us at the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium High-Performance Computing Symposium, May 16–18!

For the first time ever, the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium High-Performance Computing Symposium will be hosted at Skysong in Scottsdale, Tuesday, May 16, 2023–Thursday, May 18, 2023. The Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium, known as RMACC, is a community of HPC-serving institutions across nine States (Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington and Montana) in the Rocky Mountain region.

This is an excellent opportunity for ASU faculty and students to interact with developers of supercomputing applications and to learn best practices from some of the leading experts in HPC.

Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium High-Performance Computing Symposium
Tuesday, May 16, 2023–Thursday, May 18, 2023
SkySong, 1301-1475 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85257
Register to attend ($30 for students, $175 otherwise)

This year’s agenda includes multiple tracks, with interactive tutorials from NVIDIA on how to accelerate Python and R codes using GPUs, as well as training from IBM on how to use their Quantum Cloud (to which ASU researchers already have access) to run programs employing the qiskit quantum computing package.

The Symposium is not exclusively for system administrators or facilitators and is meant to accommodate computational researchers, from beginners to experts. For instance, there will be a 90-minute tutorial on LaTeX for typesetting research manuscripts by ASU’s own Associate Professor Bruno Welfert. The two keynotes, by Assistant Professor Anne Brown of Virginia Tech and Professor Judith Klein-Seetharaman of ASU, will provide two unique views into how HPC can accelerate scientific discoveries. The student poster competition will present attendees with a chance to interact and learn from one another.

Additionally, the Symposium is providing breakfast and lunch, allowing for additional highly valuable interactive time with the community.
