Fulton Schools Values Spotlight: Nathan Deneau

Fulton Schools Values Spotlight

The Fulton Schools Values help define how we work together, serve our students and advance our shared mission. Across the Fulton Schools, faculty and staff put these values into practice every day through how they collaborate, innovate, lead and support others. In this edition, we highlight a member of our community who exemplifies Deliver Innovation that Matters by finding new ways to solve challenges and create meaningful impact.

Nathan Deneau, Web Application Developer Lead IT, Engineering Technical Services

Faced with an outdated hiring process that struggled to keep pace with the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, or UGTA, and PULSE programs, Nathan Deneau helped build a better solution. The programs hire more than 500 students each semester but previously relied on multiple spreadsheets and manual processes to manage requests, applications and offers. Deneau developed a centralized, automated portal that lets faculty submit hiring requests, track their progress and generate offers in one place, creating a system designed to grow alongside the programs.

The new system has transformed a process that once took days into one that can take minutes, while reducing administrative workload, improving accuracy and helping ensure faculty and students receive timely support. Deneau continues to work with program staff to refine the system as needs evolve, applying his technical expertise to turn challenges into scalable solutions. By creating an innovative tool with a direct and lasting impact on faculty, staff and hundreds of student employees, Deneau exemplifies the Fulton Schools value of Deliver innovation that matters.
