AWS Jam brings cloud competition and collaboration to The Polytechnic School

Students in the information technology program at The Polytechnic School brought energy and enthusiasm to an AWS Jam event sponsored by Amazon Web Services, or AWS.
The competition challenged student teams to solve real-world cloud computing and security scenarios using AWS tools and environments. Participants tackled industry-inspired use cases in areas such as automation, DevOps, incident response, compliance and artificial intelligence, earning points and bragging rights. The AWS Jam format promotes hands-on learning, teamwork and problem-solving, giving participants an authentic feel for cloud operations and security at scale.
“The cloud landscape continues to evolve rapidly, especially with the expansion of artificial intelligence across industries,” says Tatiana Walsh, associate teaching professor and program chair of the information technology program. “Events like AWS Jam give our students the opportunity to experience this transformation firsthand, developing both the technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving skills needed to thrive in today’s AI-powered cloud environment.”
Students left the event energized and inspired, having strengthened their cloud expertise and confidence in tackling complex challenges.
Congratulations to graduate information technology students Saachi Bhimanpalli, Shraddha Ghawate, Soham Raorane and graduate computer science student Meet Vyas for their excellent problem-solving, creativity and teamwork throughout the competition.
