Donate blood at the annual blood drive, Oct. 26
Please join us for the Fall 2023 Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering and School of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering Blood Drive.
In 2023, an estimated 300,590 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the U.S. One way you can make a meaningful impact on breast cancer patients is by donating blood during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer patients often require blood transfusions during chemotherapy and surgery, and your donation can contribute to their care and recovery. As we welcome fall and the vibrant reds, oranges and yellows it brings, your blood donation can color someone’s world, too. Blood donations create their own special hue – a life-affirming pink on the cheeks of a very ill patient. Your blood donation creates a fabulous color for patients. Every drop of blood you give can bring a glimmer of hope to someone in their fight against a terrible disease and bring hope to so many patients who need our help.
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. This could be a little girl in the ICU or a mother with Stage 3 leukemia. If you’re worried about needles, don’t be—most blood donors compare the experience to a mild, split-second pinch! The entire process is very safe and very fast, and you will feel amazing knowing you potentially saved up to three people. Find out what to do after you have scheduled your appointment, and learn about every step in our simple blood donation process. Also, download and print your blood donation preparation guide.
