Share with your students: Apply for the Milton Sommerfeld Award to Advance Algae Research by May 10

The Milton Sommerfeld Fund for Algae Research was created to continue Sommerfeld’s legacy of assisting students in their work to advance the field of algae research. Both undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in algae research are invited to apply by Wednesday, May 10, 2023, by submitting a one-page Word or PDF document application via email to Associate Professor Kiril Hristovski, the environmental and resource management program chair, at [email protected]. The applications should contain the following information:
  • Name of the student.
  • ASU program in which the student is enrolled and academic level.
  • Name of the mentor with whom the student will be working.
  • A one-page description of the proposed or ongoing algae-related project and a brief vision describing how this project will help the student in the development of a professional career.
Read more about the application. The projects can be related to all aspects of algae applications and implications, including environmental, engineering, socio-economic, business, sustainability or other focus areas. One scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $1,800.
