Computer science, computer systems engineering and software engineering students on the Tempe, West Valley and Polytechnic campuses are encouraged to apply for Arizona State University’s CyberAICorps Scholarship for Service, or CyberAI SFS, program.

ASU is one of 14 universities selected to receive inaugural awards from the U.S. National Science Foundation to provide students with scholarship support, advanced education and research opportunities at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Leading the ASU effort is Gail-Joon Ahn, a professor of computer science and engineering in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, part of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at ASU, and a global computer security pioneer.

The program combines substantial scholarship support with advanced education and research opportunities at the intersection of cybersecurity and AI. Scholars prepare for high-impact careers supporting the cybersecurity missions of U.S. government agencies, creating a pathway from their ASU education to public service.

Selected scholars can receive three semesters of support, including:

  • Full-time tuition and class-related fees.
  • A student stipend of $27,000 per academic year for undergraduate students, or $37,000 for graduate students.
  • Up to $6,000 per academic year for professional development, reimbursing eligible expenses such as travel to the SFS Job Fair, books and professional certifications.
  • Career preparation for public service, with education and research experiences designed to prepare graduates for government cybersecurity careers.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, but students interested in the upcoming semester are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Selection decisions are generally made before the start of each semester.
