Share with your students: Attend a seminar on the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks Digital Design and Manufacturing Challenge, Sept. 19

Join the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks as they host Binil Starly, school director and professor of manufacturing engineering, for a seminar on the School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks Digital Design and Manufacturing Challenge.
About
The School of Manufacturing Systems and Networks is proud to sponsor the Digital Design and Manufacturing Challenge, which asks students to digitally design and prototype a model that captures the essence of materials, robotics and automation in a creative design while keeping the Fulton Schools values at the forefront of the model. Undergraduate and graduate students across all levels from any academic program across ASU are welcome to prepare a submission. Teams are additionally challenged to incorporate one or more of the nine ASU design aspirations into a single 3D design that is manufacturable via either conventional manufacturing or 3D printing.
The submission should showcase materials, color, automation and robots while incorporating form, fit and motion that changes its shape over time. Conceptual designs will be presented at the first stage of the competition, and a panel will invite a final round of teams to prototype and showcase their design at the end of the spring 2025 semester on the ASU Polytechnic campus.
The 2024–25 Digital Design and Manufacturing Challenge and its associated workforce development program is a call for action to inspire the next generation of artists, scientists and engineers to understand the importance and impact of manufacturing across the U.S. and the world while bridging disciplines and expertise. Students are challenged to go beyond the classroom or laboratory and showcase their creative and technical talents by demonstrating innovative ways digital manufacturing can add value to the engineering process.
