Attend SEEdS Seminar: Rethinking Writing in Engineering, Sept. 19

faculty member presenting to other faculty members

The Fulton Schools Learning and Teaching Hub invites you to join us for the first Fulton Schools of Engineering Education Seminar, or SEEdS, of the semester. SEEdS is a monthly virtual speaker series that brings the community together to explore topics in engineering education.

Rethinking Writing in Engineering
Guest Speakers: Duane Roen, ASU emeritus professor of English, and Stefani Jenkins, Learning and Teaching Hub instructional innovation coach

Friday, Sept. 19, 2025
Noon–1 p.m.
Location: Zoom

This seminar will explore how short, low-stakes writing can deepen learning in engineering classrooms — sparking curiosity, building connections across content and helping students create value in their learning. You’ll leave with research-backed insights, ready-to-use tools and fresh ideas for integrating writing into your teaching.

To ensure the seminar is as relevant and useful as possible, a short survey is available to share information about challenges related to integrating writing into engineering courses.

SEEdS seminars are open to the entire Fulton Schools community. Mark your calendar and be part of this semester’s conversation on rethinking how writing can enrich engineering education.
