The Designing Actionable Solutions for a Secure Homeland, or DASSH, Student Design Challenge is your chance to tackle real-world homeland security challenges in a collaborative and innovative environment. This dynamic event will task participants to develop innovative solutions to real-world homeland security problems, focusing on securing the future while considering the evolving effects of artificial intelligence, or AI. The problem scenarios for this event will focus on securing the future while considering the evolving impacts of AI.

The DASSH Student Design Challenge will not focus primarily on coding challenges, and in-depth AI knowledge is not required — this event emphasizes developing real-world solutions, regardless of the medium or approach. We encourage teams from all disciplines to participate in this opportunity to collaborate with peers, academic experts and industry professionals while tackling pressing challenges in homeland security. Participants will work alongside academic and industry mentors, exploring solutions beyond coding challenges to tackle homeland security issues.
