Engineering Dean Kyle Squires is appointed vice provost of Polytechnic campus
Dean Kyle Squires has been appointed Vice Provost of the Polytechnic Campus where he will be the lead provost’s office liaison for the campus, working closely with campus deans and key leadership to support faculty and student success and enrollment growth.
The Polytechnic campus is home to approximately 6,200 students, offering 92 undergraduate and 42 graduate degrees in various engineering disciplines, business, nursing and health innovation, and integrative sciences and arts. There is an aggressive goal of doubling enrollment at the Polytechnic campus by fall 2028, which will require enhanced focus and partnership across the university.
Squires will continue in his other campus roles, including serving as dean of the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and senior vice provost for engineering, computing and technology at ASU. He has been instrumental in shaping the direction of engineering education, research and innovation at scale. Under his leadership, enrollment at the Fulton Schools has grown from 18,700 to nearly 33,000 students, with 75 degree options offered on three campuses and online.
He has spearheaded numerous interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary programs and grown industry partnerships to ensure students receive a dynamic, innovative educational experience and are positioned for success post-graduation. Today, the Fulton Schools is the largest and most comprehensive higher education engineering enterprise in the United States and is a leading producer of top engineering talent.
To enable the focused attention to the Polytechnic campus that will be required to meet set goals, an assistant vice provost dedicated to the campus will also be hired. This will add capacity and allow Dean Squires to maintain his other responsibilities while ensuring the campus gets the attention needed to accelerate its evolution.
