Share with your students: Apply for the NSF Research Traineeship Program by March 31

The National Science Foundation Research Traineeship, or NRT, program at ASU is focused on the human-centered design and manufacturing of medical devices. It is now open to current and incoming PhD students in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biological design, computer science and engineering, civil and environmental engineering, biomedical engineering, materials sciences and engineering, and life sciences. The curriculum includes tailored courses and hands-on experiences like residencies at Mayo Clinic, mentorship programs, and professional development workshops. Participants will also engage in cutting-edge research, participate in MedTech Accelerator, and publish research findings.

The NRT program is committed to training an inclusive and diverse workforce. Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Women and minority students are especially encouraged to apply. Eligible students may qualify for an annual stipend of $34,000 and tuition coverage. Faculty are encouraged to share information about the NRT program with their students.
