Diversity Difference DII@FSE

We are proud to continue offering workshops as part of the Fulton Schools Diversity Difference program, funded by the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering Diversity and Inclusion Initiative (DII). This series aims to showcase our diverse community and to support learning through workshops and experiences.

Foundations of Cultural Intelligence for Faculty and Staff
Presented by Renee Bhatti-Klug, Senior University International Educator

Wednesday, November 3, 2021
10–11:30 a.m.
Register to attend

In this introductory workshop to Cultural Intelligence (CI), participants will understand why building CI is a critical step toward achieving DEI outcomes. Through interactive and reflective activities, participants will learn how to increase the values of curiosity, empathy, and compassion, which guide the capabilities of Cultural Openness, Cultural Awareness, and Cultural Responsiveness, respectively.

This is the first in a two-part series that will be followed up with a workshop opportunity in Spring 2022.

Building Cultural Awareness through Understanding Values
Spring 2022 date and time to be announced

Participants will continue developing CI through Cultural Awareness by examining their value expressions as they relate to those of their colleagues. Through reflective discussions, participants will practice how to communicate most responsively with people who have diverse cultural value orientations.

Please contact Christina Hernandez at cqhernandez@asu.edu or Kae Sawyer at kae.sawyer@asu.edu from the Fulton Schools Academic and Student Affairs to learn more about this series or for workshop recommendations.
