The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering is launching an initiative that focuses on diversity and inclusion — DII@FSE — which will devote dedicated focus to a topic that is a core value to ASU and the Fulton Schools.
Through this initiative, we will be explicit with how the Fulton Schools align with ASU’s access mission as it relates to the culture within the Fulton Schools, as well as to the diversity and success of its members including students, faculty, staff, community and industry partners.
We are creating a task force comprised of faculty and staff to help accomplish the initiative’s goals:
- Articulate a vision/mission for diversity and inclusion at the Fulton Schools.
- Identify strategies and practices that support a diverse workplace and an inclusive environment.
- Implement and monitor strategies that advance the Fulton Schools as an environment where diverse individuals feel included, valued and respected, and where different kinds of people can thrive and succeed.
- Take a leadership role in nationally disseminating ASU/the Fulton Schools’ approach to diversity and inclusion with an emphasis on how we achieve results through partnerships and at scale.
If you are interested in participating in this task force, please complete this brief survey by Tuesday, January 22, 2019.
We plan to finalize the membership of the task force and hold a kick-off meeting by early February. The task force will meet regularly over the spring 2019 and fall 2019 semesters.
