The ARCS Foundation’s Phoenix Chapter is now accepting nominations for their ARCS Scholars scholarship!

The Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation was created to provide financial support for scholastically outstanding doctoral studentsThe student does not need to be enrolled in one of these degree programs, but if their research is indirectly involved with these areas, they may want to consider applying. The ARCS Foundation wishes to receive applications in these fields:

Biology Biological Design
Cellular Biology Microbiology
Molecular Biology Plant Biology
Cancer Research Chemistry
Biochemistry Organic Chemistry
Computer Science Engineering
Aerospace Engineering Biomedical Engineering
Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering
Environmental and Sustainable Engineering Electrical Engineering
Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering
Geology Hydrology
Mathematics Applied Mathematics
Physics  

If your department has outstanding doctoral students conducting research in any of these areas, you are invited to nominate up to five students to be considered for one of the $8,500 ARCS awards. You may also renominate an ARCS Scholar is they are making good progress and are not expected to graduate before May 2020.

In order to consider your nominee, you must submit one original ARCS application and one original Graduate College Release of Information.

The student must:

  • be a citizen of the United States,
  • be enrolled full-time in a doctoral program
  • have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Submit nominations and supporting documents to Graduate College, Interdisciplinary B (INTDS) second floor, Suite 285, no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Do not send any materials to ARCS or submit handwritten nominations.
