New faculty: Learn how to anticipate and adjust to issues related to lab setup and management through panel discussions and small group sessions with senior faculty in a workshop on Friday, January 19, 2018.
Breakfast and lunch will be served.
Soon-to-be and recently tenured faculty will join new faculty in a panel discussion, followed by small group sessions, where teams of junior and senior faculty will focus on subtopics in self-selected areas of interest.
Issues to discuss include:
- work/life balance
- time management
- pitching and promoting your research
- establishing a lab culture
- advising students
- balancing funding, papers, research and service
- lab safety
