The Avnet Innovation Lab at the Fulton Schools is designed to spur economic growth in the technology sector and enable aspiring entrepreneurs to advance their innovations. In addition to providing start-up funding, the program provides critical business consultation and venture support to entrepreneurs developing new technology, especially inventions that make the world a better place.

Lab participants, known as “performers,” are awarded grants from a $250,000 annual donation provided by Avnet and have access to dedicated lab space in a state-of-the-art engineering facility on the Tempe campus. To support progress toward the next phase the road to market viability, participants receive personal consultation from experts in technology distribution, supply chain management and next-generation technologies throughout the 12–18 month program.

The advisory council for the program, led by senior representatives from Avnet and ASU, will make their selection and announce the results in early 2017. The team is looking for projects that have reached key milestones and can be aided toward the next development stage with funding and guidance.
