The KEEN Professorship provides up to $10K in mini-grants (plus $2K in discretionary funding) to Fulton Schools faculty members who aim to develop, implement and disseminate Entrepreneurial Mindset content within their courses, programs or labs. This call will be to fund our first cohort of faculty. There will be additional opportunities to apply for a KEEN Professorship in the fall of 2016, as well as the spring and fall of 2017.

Opportunity
In a dynamic and interconnected world, it is critical for the Fulton Schools to teach a technical skillset and an entrepreneurial mindset — fostering curiosity, connections and the creation of value (the 3C’s). To advance this goal, ASU has recently become a partner in the Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN), which is is a collaboration of hundreds of engineering faculty who are educating engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset so they can create personal, economic and societal value through a lifetime of meaningful work.

Mini-Grant Goals
The key objectives related to the possible use of mini-grant funds include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Create curriculum innovations that embed aspects of the 3C’s
  • Educate students and fellow faculty about EM and the 3C’s
  • Integrate 3C’s into advancing research
  • Provide additional Service Activity opportunities, including outreach activities, engagement with student groups, etc.
  • Advance Co-Curricular offerings

Benefits
KEEN Professorship recipients will receive funding, support and recognition as a leader within the cutting-edge realm of engineering Entrepreneurial Mindset education. KEEN Professors and their initiatives will be featured on the KEEN Professorship web page throughout the grant period and beyond.

Eligibility
The KEEN Professorship is open to all Fulton faculty, including tenured, tenure-track, lecturers and adjunct instructors.
