ASU freshman is looking to revolutionize tech (Channel 12 News – Phoenix)
Incoming ASU freshman electrical engineering student Sarah Galvin is continuing the research she did to win the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for high school students earlier this year. Working this summer in the lab of ASU engineering professor Nathan Newman, Galvin is experimenting with new materials for electronic devices that promise to make them operate more efficiently, and to be produced more economically. Her progress attracted interest from Channel 12 News. Watch the video.

Brazil’s top science students studying at ASU (Channel 12 News – Phoenix)
With the fervent widespread attention attracted by the World Cup soccer championship in Brazil, Channel 12 News in Phoenix has been looking at connections between the South American country and Arizona. One story featured Brazilian Luis Eduardo Carneiro De Oliveira, an electrical engineering major in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. Oliveira is attending Arizona State University with the support of a Science Without Borders scholarship, part of a Brazilian government program to bolster its ranks of talented young engineers and scientists.  Oliveira talks about the sacrifices being made by his family to help him fulfill his potential.
