Science Outside the Lab, is a workshop in Washington, D.C. that explores the relationships among science, innovation, policy and societal outcomes. The workshop investigates the context of science and innovation decision-making in government and business at the local, state, federal and international levels. Graduate students who are interested in how decisions about science and innovation funding, regulation and policy are made will benefit from this program. Graduate students interested in careers in science policy also will find this to be an excellent opportunity to learn about important fellowships and meet current science and innovation policy professionals.

  • Application deadline is 5 p.m. PST on Monday, March 31, 2014.
  • Session 1: Monday, May 26, 2014—Friday, June 6, 2014.
  • Session 2:  Monday, June 2, 2014—Friday, June 13, 2014.
