Aditi Chattopadhyay, Ira A. Fulton Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy, has been named Regents’ Professor, the highest distinction given to faculty of Arizona’s state universities. She is one of four ASU professors this year and the ninth Fulton Engineering professor to date to receive this distinction.
Chattopadhyay is an internationally renowned expert on composite materials, structural health monitoring, multidisciplinary design optimization and their application in a range of important problems central to the aerospace industry and a growing variety of applications in civil/structural industries. She has provided national and international research leadership in several areas of critical importance to national priorities in aerospace engineering. These include contributions in the areas of smart materials and structures, composite materials, structural health monitoring, multidisciplinary optimization and aeroelasticity.
