Ideas for smart water use earn engineering student research award
Aug. 22, 2013 — Civil engineering graduate student Tom Volo uses data from soil moisture sensors to devise a hydrological model to determine the best irrigation practices for native and exotic landscapes in semi-arid cities such as Phoenix. His work has won the 2013 Central Arizona Project (CAP) Award for Water Research, which recognizes excellence in graduate or undergraduate research that addresses water issues facing central and southern Arizona and the Colorado River. Read on Full Circle
