A recent State audit found that many lab hazardous waste containers were not properly labeled, identified or closed. Please ensure that all waste containers are:
- Clean and compatible with the waste being accumulated.
- Labeled or tagged with the words “Hazardous Waste”.
- Marked with a list of the contents and the associated hazard on the tag or label.
- Kept closed at all times, except when adding waste.
