Walk-Only Zones make your campus trips safer and ease vehicle congestion on ASU’s Tempe campus. Walk-Only Zones affect all pedestrians, including ASU students, faculty, staff and visitors.
The first of three Walk-Only Zones will be launched at the start of the fall 2013 semester and includes Cady Mall from the north end of Hayden Library to the south edge of the Memorial Union and Orange Mall on the north side of the Memorial Union. See the phase one diagram. Walk-Only Zones will be enforced Monday–Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
During enforcement times, no one may ride, drive or park wheeled vehicles in Walk-Only Zones.
Wheeled vehicles include:
- Bicycles (traditional and motorized)
- Delivery/Maintenance & Landscaping cars, trucks and carts
- Electric vehicles and golf carts
- Inline and roller skates
- Scooters
- Segways
- Skateboards
- All motorized and wheeled vehicles
