AZ Furnace companies pitch their business plans at demo day (Phoenix Business Journal)
Using existing technologies and intellectual property from the three major state universities, 10 startup companies pitched their business plans, expected revenue and investment needs Wednesday at the inaugural AZ Furnace Demo Day. Startups at the event included:

RehabDev is a neurorehabilitation company using technology developed at the Center for Cognitive Ubiquitous Computing. RehabDev is led by founders Troy McDaniel, postdoctoral researcher, and Sethuraman Panchanathan, senior vice president of the Office of Knowledge Enterprise Development and management team members Eric Luster, graduate research associate, and Grant Farrell.

MIXX Systems is working to commercialize an improved concrete mixture where specific quantities of crumb rubber are added to the mix. The company uses the proprietary formula created by researchers in the National Center of Excellence on SMART Innovations. Management team members include Seth Williams, Jacqueline Thompson, a Ph.D. candidate in construction management and Chad Eby.
