Astronaut Leroy Chiao, Ph.D., holds appointments at the Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University. A speaker and consultant, he has worked extensively in both government and commercial space programs and has held leadership positions in commercial ventures and NASA. Chiao has extensive experience as a NASA astronaut and research engineer in the U.S., China, Japan and Russia, and is a Fellow of the Explorers Club and a member of the Committee of 100. He serves in various capacities to further space education.
