There are a number of appointments available in fifteen minute increments throughout the duration of the blood drive. United Blood Services does accept walk-in donors on the day of the drive, but it is highly recommended that you book an appointment in advance. - Blood transfusions save more than 4 million lives each year.
- It is estimated that blood is needed every two seconds.
- For a traditional whole blood donation you should allow approximately one hour from start of interview to refreshments.
