Hey Sun Devils, when was the last time you supported your national championship softball team? These incredible women are bringing the heat this 2012 season having won 32 of their 36 games to date.

What better of a time to experience an exciting game of softball than at Engineering Night this Thursday, April 5 at the Alberta B. Farrington Softball Stadium. We are kicking off the festivities with a huge free tailgate starting at 5 p.m. at PV Beach. Come join us for some good food before we cheer on the Sun Devil softball team as they take on UCLA! We’ll have some great giveaways at the tailgate party including a softball signed by all the Sun Devil softball players.

Come see the amazing softball stadium
To accompany such a great team, we have an impressive facility for them to call home. Since the opening in 2000, the Alberta B. Farrington Softball Stadium has undergone expansive additions and unique alterations to turn our home field into one of the top ten softball facilities in the nation. Having won multiple facility and stadium quality awards in the last few years, the stadium properly reflects the excellence of our softball team and the investment that ASU has in their athletics department.

Not only do our Sun Devils have a fully equipped dugout and locker room to socialize, prep and relax in, but the visiting teams also experience this same luxury. “We have a visiting dugout that is fully equipped, and it heads into the visiting locker room that has showers and a restroom. We also have a visiting batting cage,” explains Corinne Calabro, information specialist with the Sun Devils Athletics’ administration department.

“We have great attendance and fan base,” says Annie Voyles, special assistant in the softball department. Over spring break when the campus was empty and students had a week to unwind, the stadium was sold out the whole weekend and reached a new record for turnout. With seating capacity at 1,500, the total reached 2,200 fans in the stadium on Saturday, March 24.

A combination of amazing athletes competing in an exceptional facility is everything needed to draw a crowd. So come and join the fun.
