Brian Pierre, a Ph.D. student in Fulton Engineering, recently set a school record running the 5K in under 14 minutes. Congratulations, Brian!

From Sparky’s Insights, Feb. 29:

“The No. 7 Sun Devil Men’s Track and Field team won their first-ever Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships on Saturday in Seattle, dominating the competition with a 50 point victory over runner-up Stanford.  The Sun Devils scored 131 points and had five conference champions on the weekend: Ryan Milus (60m), Rashad Ross (200m), Brian Pierre (5000m) Chris Benard (Triple Jump) and Jordan Clarke (Shot Put). Benard set the Dempsey Indoor Facility record and beat his own school record with a jump of 16.43 (53-11). Pierre also set a school record in the 5k with a time of 13:50.37.”
