There are several opportunities for faculty and students to share their research and the excitement of engineering with the community–and hopefully inspire some future engineers.

  • Geeks Night Out on Feb. 16, 5:30-9 p.m., is an event geared toward adults, and part of Mill Avenue District Third Thursdays. Fulton faculty and students can feature hands-on activities, movies and demonstrations in the Brickyard.
  • The Night of the Open Door, an event geared toward families, will be held Saturday, March 3, 6-9 p.m. Tyler Mall will come alive with student projects, faculty research and hands-on activities. All Fulton faculty and students are encouraged to participate.
  • Our first ever Engineering Open House, March 30-31, will feature student projects, faculty research and corporate showcases-as well as grade school and high school design competitions.

Led by the Engineering Student Council, the goal of the event is to showcase the role that engineering plays in everyday life and show the difference that technology makes to our future.

The open house is modeled after the highly successful event at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Held annually each year since 1952, their Engineering Open House attracts thousands of people to campus to see engineering projects, research and discoveries from all engineering disciplines.

Register now to participate in one or all of these events or for more details: contact Steve Rippon, steve.rippon@asu.edu or 965-3736.
