Fulton Engineering is upgrading from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010 this month. ETS is working with the Schools to ensure a smooth migration, currently planned for the week of Dec. 19. Updates will be posted via In the Loop once the schedule is finalized. Please note a few important things related to the upgrade:
- The website address will change after migration. Currently, all web addresses for Fulton Engineering SharePoint sites start with https://fulton.sharepoint.asu.edu/. After migration, they will start with https://fulton.sp10.asu.edu/.
- The Engineering Personnel Actions site will not shift until after May 2012, to allow the current cycle to finish without interruption.
- The SharePoint 2010 environment will have all new MySites. Anyone who has been using MySites in 2007 will need to migrate their files/lists/subsites to 2010 manually—ETS and your School’s Desktop Techs will be there to help!
- You can get a head start on learning how to use SharePoint 2010. Don’t worry, the basic functionality is the same, but the user interface is different and there is added functionality. If you want to take advantage of the Training site, visit https://training.sp10.asu.edu/.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Shaun Usman (Shaun.Usman@asu.edu, 5-0896) or your school’s desktop techs.
