By now, you should have received information at your home about 2012 benefits open enrollment. Here is a brief overview of what you need to know:
Online benefits open enrollment for the 2012 plan year begins Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, and ends Friday, Nov. 18, 2011. There are no premium increases this year and no plan changes, except HSA Saving Account contribution changes. Unum short-term disability insurance premiums will decrease from $0.84 to $0.71 per $100 of covered base pay.
If you were hired before September 28, 2011, you may participate in open enrollment:
- If you want to make changes to your current health, life and short-term disability plans.
- If you have a Flexible Spending Account. New FSA elections must be made every year.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST have an enrollment confirmation statement to submit any appeals due to user or system errors. Appeals will be accepted Nov. 19–Dec. 2, 2011.
WHO?
Benefits-eligible faculty and staff hired before Sept. 28, 2011
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your benefits are not effective until after Jan. 1, 2012, you are not eligible to participate in this open enrollment period.
