Aditi Chattopadhyay is leading an outreach program at McClintock High School’s Peggy Payne Academy, introducing students to cutting edge technologies that have real-world applications. Chattopadhyay is the Ira A. Fulton Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy, and director of the Adapative Intelligent Materials & Systems Center.
Students are using sensors, fiber optics, lasers and high-tech cameras to find microscopic flaws in composite materials intended for use in airplanes.
