Are you creative? Do you have the entrepreneurial spirit? Looking for a new hobby? ASU faculty and staff can receive a 20 percent discount on TechShop memberships starting this fall.

This membership-based, do-it-yourself facility provides the public with tools, equipment, training and a vibrant, supportive community of creative people. You don’t have to have any previous knowledge of prototyping or prototyping equipment to take advantage of this membership; TechShop staff will work with you to recommend the right equipment and workshops that you’ll need to advance your ideas.

What are the benefits? As a member, you will have:

  • Access to over $1 million dollar’s worth of advanced machines and tools and sophisticated design software.
  • A $100 voucher to spend on TechShop workshops, which teach you how to use prototyping equipment.
  • Access to a community of inventors, tinkerers, hobbyists, entrepreneurs, and people just like you!

TechShop is located in the ASU Chandler Innovation Center (ACIC), an engineering and technology-based education and research hub located at the heart of downtown Chandler.

To get your membership, visit TechShop Chandler at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center on or after September 2 with your valid ASU ID. Fall semester memberships are valid from September 3, 2014 to January 16, 2015.

To learn more, see ASU’s TechShop website, visit one of these information sessions, or stop by TechShop Chandler to take a tour. Tours are available every half hour and on the hour; no pre-registration is required.
